Aloo Tikkis

Straight from the Indian streets into the comfort of your homes, a crisp mix of potatoes and spices. Aloo tikki is a very popular snack all over india.These are pan fried small potato cakes (tikki), served with chutney.

Ingredients

  • 6 medium sized Potatoes (Boiled, peeled and mashed)
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chaat masala
  • 2 tbsp Corn flour
  • 3 tbsp Coriander (chopped)
  • Oil (as required for shallow fry)

Instructions

  • 1 Mix all of the ingredients except the oil.
  • 2 Form an even mixture. Divide mixture for medium sized tikkis.
  • 3 Shape and form tikkis. (Can apply some oil to palms of your hands while forming tikkis)
  • 4 Heat oil in a skillet, Fry them till golden brown. Serve hot with tamarind chutney.

Recipe Notes

  1. If the mixture seems to be a bit sticky, refrigerate the mixture for 30 mins to an hour.
  2. These tikkis can be used as a base in making chaats.
  3. Can be made kid friendly by eliminating the use of chili powder in the recipe.
