Goan Beef Chilly Fry

This beef chilly fry recipe is made with the left over Goan roast beef meat with the addition of few more ingredients to it. It can be enjoyed with Goan pao or as a side dish.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams Beef roast meat (see recipe notes below for recipe )
  • 3 large Onions (sliced)
  • 2 large Tomatoes (sliced)
  • 2 Tamarind Balls (marble sized, soak in 1/4 cup water)
  • 2-3 Green chillies (chopped)
  • Salt (as required)
  • 1/2 cup Coriander (chopped)
  • 4 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  • 1 Cook the roast meat (see recipe notes below for recipe ). Allow it to cool. Slice the roast meat and cut into strips. (You can also cut meat into cubes).
  • 2 In a skillet, heat oil and fry onions till soft.
  • 3 Add the tomatoes and cook them till soft.
  • 4 Add the meat along with the gravy. Mix well.
  • 5 Mix in the tamarind water, stir fry the chilly fry for about 3-4 minutes on high heat. Adjust the salt. Add the green chilies.
  • 6 Add the chopped coriander. Mix well.
  • 7 Beef chilly fry is ready ! Serve it with Goan Pao. (see recipe notes below for recipe )
