Beef Steaks in Temprado Masala

Beef steak slices marinated in green masala (temprado masala) , rawa coated and shallow fried served along with a salad. The steaks can also be stuffed in Pao along with the salad for a delicious sandwich (Cutlet Pao).

Ingredients

For the Beef Steak Slices:-
  • 500 grams Beef Steak slices (thin)
  • 4-5 tbsp Temprado Masala (green masala, see recipe notes below)
  • Salt (as per taste)
  • 1 Egg (lightly beaten)
  • Rawa (fine semolina to coat beef slices)
  • Oil (to shallow fry )
For the Salad:-
  • 2-3 cups Cabbage (finely shredded)
  • 4-5 tbsp Vinegar
  • 2 tsp Granulated white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1-2 Green chillies (finely chopped)
  • Few Tomato slices

Instructions

  • 1 Grind the temprado masala and keep aside. (See recipe notes below for recipe link for masala).
  • 2 Wash the beef steak slices.
  • 3 Bang each beef slice with a meat pounder.
  • 4 Add salt and the green masala. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • 5 Prepare the salad , while the meat marinates. In a small glass bowl , add the vinegar, salt , sugar and chilies. Stir well till sugar dissolves.
  • 6 Pour the vinegar salad dressing over the cabbage. Keep this aside.
  • 7 Add the beaten egg into the beef slices. Mix well. Coat the beef slices with rawa on both sides.
  • 8 In a pan, add oil and shallow fry the meat for about 2 minutes on each side.
  • 9 Fry till you get a nice golden brown color on both sides. Drain steaks on paper towel.
  • 10 Serve with the above prepared salad and tomato slices and enjoy as a starter. You can also stuff these steaks in Goan Pao along with the salad and enjoy it as a sandwich (cutlet Pao). See notes below.
