  • 2 cup Besan flour (Gram flour)
  • 1 cup White sugar (powdered)
  • 2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/4 tsp Clove powder
  • 1/2 cup Ghee (Clarified butter, extra ghee if required)
  • 20 Raisins/cashewnut pieces (Optional)

Instructions

  • 1 Dry roast the gram flour on low flame for about 12 minutes till you get a nice aroma released from the flour.( Make sure not to burn the flour while roasting).
  • 2 You will notice the change in color of the flour after 12 minutes.
  • 3 Turn off the heat and add in the sugar powder, cardamom powder, clove powder.
  • 4 Add 1/2 cup ghee. Let it melt. Mix well.
  • 5 Take sufficient amount of the mixture in your hand while still hot (be careful). Press it firmly and try to form ladoos in between your palms. If you are not been able to form ladoos (if the mixture still seems dry) then, add 1 tbsp extra ghee and try forming ladoos again.
  • 6 You can keep adding 1/2 to 1 tbsp ghee if required, till you can shape the ladoos.
  • 7 You can press in a raisin or cashew nut piece while shaping the ladoos. Continue shaping ladoos, till all mixture is utilized. Let them set for about an hour before serving.
  • 8 Or just keep them simple! Once set, store them in an airtight container.
