Spicy Cabbage & Peas

This is an authentic Indian cabbage and peas dry preparation. Usually served as a side dish along with rice and curry or served alone with rotis.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Onion (chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 cup Green Peas (frozen)
  • 1/2 Cabbage (shredded)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Coriander, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  • 1 In a pan, add oil. Add cumin, allow them to splutter. Fry onion till soft. In a pan, add oil. Add cumin, allow them to splutter. Fry onion till soft.
  • 2 Add turmeric powder chili powder and coriander powder. Stir fry for a minute.
  • 3 Add the peas. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • 4 Add the cabbage. Cover pan with lid and cook for 8-10 mins till done. (Use 2-3 tbsp water if required for cooking cabbage as cabbage cooks in its own steam).
  • 5 Add garam masala, cook for a minute. Add coriander leaves.
  • 6 Serve.
