Chicken Tawa Kebabs

Simple kebab starter prepared with curd and spice powders marinade and cooked on a griddle /tawa.

Ingredients

For the Marinade:-
  • 4 tbsp Curds (Yoghurt)
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp Dry mango powder (Amchur)
  • 1/4 tsp Chaat powder
  • 2 tsp Salt
Other ingredients:-
  • 400 grams Boneless chicken (cut into medium sized pieces)
  • 1 Large Onion (cut into medium sized pieces)
  • 1 Large Green Bell pepper (cut into medium sized pieces)
  • 3 large Tomatoes (cut into medium sized pieces)
  • Onion Slices (to garnish)
  • Lime slices (to garnish)

Instructions

  • 1 Soak about 10-12 bamboo skewers in water for 15 minutes. (This ensure that the bamboo sticks don’t burn while in the cooking process). Assemble the kebabs as seen on pic. Alternate chicken pieces with green bell pepper, tomato and onion piece.
  • 2 Apply the marinade over them. Marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  • 3 On a tawa / griddle, add about 2 tbsp oil. Lay the kebabs gently and fry them for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  • 4 Flip other side and fry.
  • 5 Serve with Onion slices and lime
