French Toast

Quick and easy recipe for French toast. This recipe works with different breads such as white, whole wheat, cinnamon-raisin, French Brioche (French brioche with chocolate chip bread , cinnamon with raisin bread are our favorite for this recipe ). Vanilla extract and cinnamon brings that extra flavor to your toast. Enjoy !!!

Ingredients

  • 8 Slices Bread (white, whole wheat, cinnamon-raisin)
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp sugar (can skip sugar if using raisin bread )
  • Pinch Cinnamon Powder (Optional , or skip if using cinnamon bread)
  • Pinch Salt
  • Ghee Or Butter (as required)

Instructions

  • 1 Beat together egg, milk, salt, Sugar, cinnamon powder and vanilla extract.
  • 2 Lightly grease a pan with butter on medium-high flame.
  • 3 Use any types of bread ... white, whole wheat, cinnamon-raisin, French brioche. (See recipe notes below ).
  • 4 Dunk each slice of bread in egg mixture, soaking both sides. (Do this immediately in few seconds , don’t keep the bread soaked in the milk ! )
  • 5 Place in pan, and cook on both sides until golden.
  • 6 Serve hot!!!

Recipe Notes

  1. Cinnamon powder is optional .
  2. if using French brioche bread , skip sugar as this bread tends to be on a sweeter side.
  3. Can serve French toast with honey / maple syrup etc (skip sugar in the recipe in this case ).
