Goan Sausage Chilly Fry

Every Goan loves the Goan Pork Sausages. They are cooked in different ways. One way is the Chilly fry where we cook the sausage meat in onion and potatoes to make a stir fry dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 large Onions (Sliced)
  • 2 medium sized Tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1 Green chilly (chopped)
  • 2 cup Goan Sausages (measure the sausage meat after removing them from outer skin)
  • 1 small Potato (Peeled and cubed)
  • 5 Dry Kokum (Binda Solam)

Instructions

  • 1 In a skillet, add 2 tbsp Oil. Fry the Onions till soft. Add the green chilies and tomatoes and cook for another few minutes.
  • 2 Add the potatoes, kokum and sausages. Mix in well. Add one cup water. Cover the skillet with lid and cook for 15 mins.
  • 3 Cook till the water dries up.
  • 4 Chilly fry goes well when served with Goan Pulao. (See recipe note below) OR Stuff the chilly fry in Goan Pao and enjoy ! (See recipe note below)
