Masala Peanuts

Masala peanuts are a crunchy and spicy gram flour coated roasted peanuts that make a delicious mid-morning snack. It is a basically a deep fried snack, but this one is a quick and easy recipe done in microwave and is almost oil free.

Ingredients

Masala for coating peanuts:-
  • 1/3 cup Besan flour (gram flour)
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp amchur powder
  • 2 Pinch Baking Soda
  • 1 Pinch hing (Asafoetida)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
Other Ingredients:-
  • 1 cup Peanuts (Raw)
  • 1 tbsp Oil (Optional,but oil makes it tastier)
  • 1/2 tsp Chaat masala

Instructions

  • 1 Mix all ingredients of masala for coating peanuts. Keep aside.
  • 2 Fill water till Peanut level and drain immediately.(Do not soak peanuts in water, just make them wet).
  • 3 Mix the peanuts in the masala.
  • 4 Add additional 2-3 tbsp water to coat peanuts with masala completely.
  • 5 Add 2 tbsp Oil and mix well. (Optional, can make it oil free as well.)
  • 6 Place in a microwave safe dish and microwave for 4 minutes.
  • 7 Once done, flip peanuts other side and separate peanuts if they are sticking to one another.
  • 8 Microwave for another 3 minutes.Cool them completely and sprinkle chaat masala.
  • 9 Store them for about 2 months. Enjoy!
