Masala Rava Fried Brinjals (Eggplant)

Spicy rava fried brinjals served as an appetizer or a side dish.

  • 4-6 Slices brinjals (Eggplant)
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • 1 Egg (whole egg beaten)
  • Rava (fine semolina, as required)
  • Oil (for shallow fry)


  • 1 In a bowl, add sufficient water, add ½ tsp salt and add brinjals slices. Keep them in salt water for about 15 mins.
  • 2 Mix together turmeric powder, chili powder, salt and vinegar to make a paste. Drain brinjal slices from water and apply the paste to it on both sides.
  • 3 In a skillet, add oil. Dip brinjal slices in egg and then in rava. Fry the brinjal slices till done.
  • 4 Serve hot.
