Ingredients

  • 300 grams Milk chocolate (chopped)
  • 150 grams White Chocolate (chopped)
  • MnMโ€™s / Gems / a small Toy / Candy (for the inside surprise)

Instructions

  • 1 Place the milk and white chocolates in 2 different microwave safe bowls. Microwave each of them for 30 seconds. Remove and stir the chocolate. Repeat this process one more time or twice until all the chocolate has melted. (See recipe notes below for gas stove melting chocolate method).
  • 2 Use the white chocolate (or milk chocolate, in a zip lock bag, snip off one tip) to make any designs in your egg mold. (This step is optional). You can directly start with step 3.
  • 3 Place about 2 tbsp chocolate in the mold and swirl around till the chocolate has coated the entire shell. Let it dry at room temperature for about 5-10 minutes. Repeat this process one more time till you have a thick shell. (If the shells are too thin, then the shells tend to break while unmolding them or handling them at later stages)
  • 4 Refrigerate them for about 15 minutes.
  • 5 Unmold them.
  • 6 Place the surprise in one shell.
  • 7 Use some melted chocolate (either white or milk chocolate) in a zip lock bag and snip off the tip. (very small)
  • 8 Take the shell with surprise and close it with an empty shell. Use this melted chocolate in zip lock bag to pipe a design to put the shells together.
  • 9 Once done, refrigerate them again for 15 mins till the piped border is set.
  • 10 Gifting Idea: Pack individual eggs in a cellophane paper with a ribbon bow on the top and gift them to your loved ones!
  • 11 Crack open your easter egg to see the surprise inside! Enjoy your treat !!!

Recipe Notes

  1. For melting chocolate onย  gas stove, place chocolate pieces in a vessel. Cover vessel with foil. Place this vessel in another vessel filled with some water.(smaller in size as compared to the one holding chocolate pieces).
  2. Place the vessel with water over stove top and let the water boil, it will melt the chocolate.
