Wash the meat and cut into 1/2 inch or 1 inch cubes. Apply salt and keep aside. |

Put all ingredients mentioned under 'For the Green Masala' in a mixer grinder. Using 1/2 cup water, grind masala into fine paste. Keep aside. |

In a vessel, heat oil and fry onion till soft. Then fry tomato till soft. Add the ground masala and fry for 2 minutes. |

Add the beef. Mix well. |

Cook for 5 minutes. Then add 3 1/2 cup water. Cover vessel and cook for 20 minutes. (If you want a thinner gravy consistency, add 4 1/2 cups water). |

After 20 minutes ,add potatoes. |

Cover and cook for another 15 minutes or until the meat is cooked. Green beef is ready. |

8 |
Enjoy this meat dish with goan pao / steamed rice / pulao / chapati. |

No coconut added, but you can add about 1/3 rd cup fresh coconut to make the masala. Coconut can be optional.

You don’t use coconut for beef green masala
hi Reagan, yes coconut is not usually added but i like to add a little for the texture of the gravy, it can be skipped if you don’t like it.

We’ve always use the green masala for our beef/chicken curries; but this time I followed your recipe, with Coconut, cz like you I too love using coconut; i shared this recipe with my Mum who heard of the recipe but never tried it out. Thanks to you, and me 🙂 she will give it a try now.

Prepared the green masala curry with mutton turned out fantastic and taste awesome. Very easy to follow recipe and pics n instructions. I made a similar preparation with few cashew seeds, badishep and few mint leaves. More like a khorma recipe. Thank you for sharing the recipe
