Chop 30 dates and keep 5 dates aside(to be used in cake batter). |

Chop remaining 5 dates and chop the almonds. |

Make the milk hot and add the 30 chopped dates and allow them to soak for 30 minutes. |

In a bowl, mix in the wheat flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, chopped almonds and chopped dates. Mix well. |

Grind the dates along with the milk to a paste. In a bowl, add the oil and the dates paste. Mix well. |

Mix in the flour mixture. |

Mix till all ingredients blend well. |

Preheat oven at 350 deg F(180 deg C).
Pour batter in a greased loaf tin cake pan. Bake for 25 minutes. Check to see if the top is getting too browned. |

Remove cake from oven. Cover top of cake with foil. Bake again for another 15-20 minutes till a toothpick inserted in cake comes out clean. |

Cool the cake completely on a wire rack. |

Slice the cake and serve. (Preferably, cut the cake the next day as its set properly, will not be crumbly ). |
