Grind all ingredients under ‘masala paste using ¼ cup water to form a fine paste. Keep it aside.
Wash the pork and apply 1 tsp salt to it.

In a vessel, add oil. Fry onions till soft and translucent.
Add the masala paste and green chilies and stir fry for 3 minutes.

Add the pork meat and fry for about 3-4 minutes. |

Add 3 cups water and dry kokum, cover vessel and cook for about 25-30 minutes. (till the meat is tender). |

You will get a semi dry gravy. |

Add the coconut milk and simmer for 3 minutes. |

Add the coriander and simmer for another 2 minutes. Serve hot with rice! |

My mother would roast desiccated coconut and paste the coconut and use the full pulp for the gravy. Can this be done with your recipe. Please help a little confused. Thanks in advance.

Yes , you can roast freshly grated coconut (no idea on desiccated coconut ).But make sure to grind it very finely.

Try cooking bimbli with dry prawns , u can use the same masala that I used in the balchao and cook the bimbli and Dry prawns in that masala .
