Wash the liver and cut into 1/2 inch cubes. |

Grind all the ingredients under 'For the Green Masala Paste'. |

Apply this masala to the liver cubes and keep aside for at least 30 minutes. |

In a pan, add oil. Fry the onion paste till light golden brown. Then add the marinated liver pieces. |

Stir well and keep cooking on medium high heat till mixture starts getting dry. Now, add the tomato puree. Add 1/2 cup water. |

Cook liver till done (DO NOT cover liver while cooking as it tends to get rubbery). Add the green chilies. |

Drop in the butter. Stir well till butter is melted. |

Beef liver is now ready! Enjoy with pao or rotis. (See recipe notes below). |
