Mix all dry ingredients. (not the sesame seeds). |

3 |
Add 1 egg plus 1 egg yolk(reserve the egg white to brush the top of buns before baking) Add in the warm milk or water (add 3/4 cup then add more if required) and knead well till a soft dough is formed. |

Place dough in an oiled bowl and cover the bowl. Leave bowl in a warm place for at least 1-2 hours till the dough has doubled. |

Once the dough is doubled, punch out the air lightly. Form 8 balls and slightly flatten like buns and place them on a greased baking tray. Leave aside to rise for another 1 hour.
Preheat oven at 375 deg F (190 deg C).
Once risen, apply milk or egg white on top of buns and sprinkle with sesame seeds. |

Bake for 15-20 minutes till top of buns turn brown. Brush with butter on top of buns. Wrap buns in a cloth for at least 15 minutes.(so that they turn out soft). |

Hey is that butter stick means melted buttet too.
Hi Merrybee
Here in the US we get butter in the form of sticks. Each stick is 8 tbsp.
Ok thanks
Hi xanti,
Can i substitute the flour with whole wheat flour for the same amount.
Or can I mix them ?
Thanks.
Also could u clarify this step please … should be be adding one entire egg in the mix (white and yolk) ?
Add 1 egg plus 1 egg yolk(reserve the egg white to brush the top of buns before baking) Add in the warm milk or water (add 3/4 cup then add more if required) and knead well till a soft dough is formed.
It’s 1 egg and additional 1 egg york . Save the egg white for brushing top .
Hi nerissa
You could mix the flours .
Hi Xanti, I tried the burger breads, taste wise was good but once I kept it in the oven, the breads flattened out a bit unlike yours shown in the pic, where the top of the bread is so nice n round. The yeast was good coz within the 2 hour wait time it rose well. Was wondering what I did wrong🤔
Hi Romani
It is okay for burger buns not to have a high rounded top …
as the burgers will be filled with burger patty , tomatoes etc…
A lot of burger buns that I see here in the US don’t have a high rounded top … so it’s fine
Ok great, thanks for replying back. I must also tell u that I’ve tried your beef roulade, ribbon cake, beef mince and they’ve become my go to receipes now coz they always turn out good.
