1 | Wash and soak the urad dal in enough water over night or for at least 2 hours.. Grind together the rad dal (drained), peppercorns, green chili, curry leaves, ginger and salt to form a thick paste. Make 10 equal portions. | |
2 | Take a portion of the mixture in your hand and make a hole in the center with your thumb. Heat oil in a deep frying pan drop the vada in oil. Deep fry the vada till both sides turn golden brown in color. | |
3 | Drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot with Peanut chutney. (See Recipe notes below) |
