Goan Prawn Chilly Fry

This is a basic prawn chilly fry recipe, it is a quick and easy recipe for modern housewives. This chilly fry can be used as a filling in other recipes.

Ingredients

  • 2 Onions (sliced)
  • 2 Green chillies (chopped)
  • 2 Tomato (chopped)
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 350 grams Medium sized prawns
  • 1/4 cup Coriander (chopped)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  • 1 In a pan, add oil, add the onion and green chillies and fry till onion turns soft.
  • 2 Add the tomatoes, cook them for about 5-7 mins till nice and soft.
  • 3 Add turmeric powder and salt. Add the prawns and cook till done and water dries up.
  • 4 Add coriander. Mix well. Serve hot with rice and curry or rotis or bread or Pao. (See Recipe notes for pao recipe)

Recipe Notes

  1. Do not cook prawns for more than 5 minutes as they cook fast and if overcooked they tend to taste rubbery.
