1 | Wash the masoor dal. Pressure cook it with 2 cups water with salt and turmeric powder on HIGH flame for one whistle. Keep it aside. | |
2 | In a pan, add oil, add the mustard seeds. Allow them to splutter. Add the cumin seeds, allow them to sizzle. Add onion, garlic cloves and green chillies. Fry till onion turns brown. | |
3 | Add the dal, adjust the water and salt. | |
4 | Bring it to a boil. Add the coriander leaves. | |
5 | Serve hot with rice. |
