Chicken Paratha

Stuffed parathas with a chicken chili fry. Easy recipe for kids dinner.

Ingredients

For the Chicken Stuffing: -
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 large Onion (chopped)
  • 2 medium sized Tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 2 cup chicken breast, boiled and shredded (or use chicken mince)
  • 1 tsp red chili powder (use less for kids)
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
Other Ingredients: -
  • 1 1/2 cup Wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • Ghee (clarified butter, as required)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken Stuffing: -
  • 1 Heat oil in a skillet. Fry the onions till soft. Add tomatoes, cook till soft.
  • 2 Add ginger garlic paste and stir fry for a minute. Add salt.
  • 3 Add the shredded chicken and the masala powders. (If your using chicken mince, then let the mince cook completely).
  • 4 Stir fry for 2 minutes. Mix well. Keep stuffing aside.
Prepare the Parathas:-
  • 5 Knead the flour with sufficient water to form a soft dough for chapatis. Leave dough covered for about 10 minutes. Then, divide the dough into 8 dough balls.
  • 6 Roll out 2 chapati dough balls into 6 inch chapatis. Place sufficient stuffing on one chapati. Sprinkle generous amount of cheese over the stuffing.
  • 7 Cover the other chapatti over the stuffing. Roll out again lightly and gently till about 8 inch.
  • 8 Heat a skillet. Place paratha on skillet. Fry on both sides till slightly brown.
  • 9 Apply ghee as required on both sides and cook till done. Repeat for rest of the dough.
  • 10 Cut into pieces and serve hot.
