Crispy Corn

A very simple, easy and quick recipe for crispy corn with mild spice flavor and full of crunch.

For Deep Frying Corn: -
  • 1 cup Corn (canned or frozen)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder (do not use for kids)
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper powder
  • 2 tbsp Rice flour
  • 2 tbsp Corn flour
  • Oil (for deep frying)
For Seasoning: -
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 2 Green chilies (finely chopped, do not use for kids)
  • 1 tbsp Soya sauce
  • 1 tbsp White Vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper powder
  • 2 tbsp Coriander (finely chopped)


Preparing Fried Corn: -
  • 1 If using canned corn, drain and wipe corn on paper towels. In a bowl, add corn along with ingredients under ‘For Deep Frying Corn’, except oil. Mix well so that each and every corn kernel gets coated with the flour. (Do not add water)
  • 2 Heat oil and deep fry the corn kernels in batches. (cover the frying pan as the corn may burst and start to pop out) They are crispy and ready once they start to float on top of the oil.
  • 3 Remove corn and drain them on paper towels.
Season the corn:-
  • 4 In a skillet, add oil. Add green chilies, fry for 30 seconds, then add vinegar, soya sauce, pepper powder and coriander.
  • 5 Toss in the deep fried corn kernels immediately and stir fry for 1 minute.
  • 6 Serve hot!!!
