Homemade Chicken Nuggets

Homemade Chicken Nuggets, healthy nuggets for your kids as compared to the frozen ones. These are very simple to make at home with simple ingredients. try making them at home , much better and tasty than the store frozen ones. You can make these and freeze them as well. I bet you will not get the store ready ones ever again !

Ingredients

For the Nugget Mixture:-
  • 1 Chicken breast (cut into small pieces, grind it fine in a grinder)
  • 1 medium sized Potato (boiled, peeled and mashed)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Dry parsley (or use any dry spice that you have-oregano, paprika etc)
  • 1/2 tsp Season salt (optional)
Other Ingredients:-
  • 1 cup Rice flour (or all-purpose flour)
  • 1 Egg (add 1 tbsp water, beat well)
  • Bread crumbs (for coating nuggets)
  • Oil (to deep fry nuggets)

Instructions

  • 1 In a bowl, add all the ingredients mentioned under 'For the Nugget Mixture'. Mix well.
  • 2 Oil palms of your hands and form small nuggets. Dip in rice flour, then in egg wash and finally in bread crumb.
  • 3 Prepare all the nuggets in same manner. You can now freeze them on a plate for 1 hour. Then you can pack them in a zip lock , freeze and use when required. (No need to Thaw them from freezer before cooking them).(See recipe notes below).
  • 4 Deep fry the nuggets OR Air-fry them OR bake them in the oven at 450 deg F (230 deg C)for about 12-15 minutes (turn after 6-7 minutes on other side).
  • 5 Serve with any dip or ketchup . Enjoy !!! (See recipe notes below).

Recipe Notes

  • You can add any spices in the mixture that you wish to.
  • If your preparing the nuggets to be consumed the same day, make sure you freeze them for at least 30 minutes before cooking them.
  • You can add some grated cheese in there .
  • You can freeze the nuggets as long as a month or so , but I would suggest as there are no preservatives here , try to consume them soon and make fresh batches for like 2 weeks .
