Hummus or houmous is a very popular Middle Eastern dip that is used as an appetizer and served with pita bread. Hummus is a healthy, delicious dip and super easy to make.

  • 1 cup Kabuli Chana (chickpea)
  • 4 tbsp Tahini Paste (See Recipe notes below for Tahini Recipe Link OR readymade)
  • 4 Garlic cloves (chopped)
  • 1 cup olive oil (light loive oil)
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 1 tsp Salt


  • 1 Soak kabuli chana overnight.
  • 2 Pressure cook them till nice and soft. Add all ingredients in a mixer grinder.
  • 3 Grind till a smooth paste is formed.
  • 4 Use hummus on crackers, flat breads as a snack. Use whenever called in recipes specially to make sandwiches. (See recipe notes below).
