Ladyfingers with Dry Shrimps

This is an all time Goan favorite for lunch time at my place specially served with rice and a simple masoor dal. This recipe makes use of ladyfingers cooked with dry prawns in recheado masala.

  • 15 Ladyfingers
  • 1 small Onion (chopped)
  • 1/3 Cup Dry Shrimps (Soak in warm water for about 15 minutes )
  • 1 Green chili (chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Goan recheado masala (See recipe notes below)
  • 2-3 tbsp Oil


  • 1 Wash, wipe and cut the ladyfingers.
  • 2 In a skillet, add the oil and fry the onion till soft. Add the salt and chili along with the soaked dry prawns. Fry for 5 minutes.
  • 3 Add the recheado masala. Fry for 30 seconds.
  • 4 Add the chopped ladyfingers. Sprinkle about 2-3 tbsp water over it. Cover and cook for 10 minutes till the lady fingers are cooked. (I sliced them thinly so cooked faster).
  • 5 Serve hot with rice and curry or dal!
