Coconut Ladoos

This is the very popular ladoo recipe using only condensed milk and coconut which has been a favorite of many for years ! As a kid, I would always read the recipe for the coconut ladoos provided on the condensed milk tins. Finally, tried making the ladoos last week. It's a very simple, 2-ingredient recipe. Do give it a try if you have not prepared them before!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Desiccated coconut (about 200 grams (plus extra coconut for rolling ladoos))
  • 250 grams Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder

Instructions

  • 1 In a non-stick vessel, add the condensed milk and desiccated coconut. Mix well.
  • 2 Heat on medium flame for few minutes till the mixture is well combined. Now, add the cardamom powder, mix well.
  • 3 Keep cooking till the mixture comes together.
  • 4 Let mixture cool for 3-5 minutes. Form them into ladoos, roll them in desiccated coconut.
  • 5 Continue till all mixture has been utilized. Leave them overnight at room temperature.
  • 6 Enjoy them the next day ! (See notes below).

Recipe Notes

  1. When forming ladoos, make sure mixture doesn't get cooled off.
  2. Re-heat mixture if required while forming the ladoos.(in case the mixture gets cold, it will be difficult to form the ladoos).
  3. Store the ladoos for 3 days at room temperature.
  4. Refrigerate ladoos for a week.
