Simple Goan Squid Chilly Fry

This is a recipe for a simple and a basic Goan chilly fry made with squids.

Ingredients

  • 8-10 Squids
  • 2 medium sized Onion (finely sliced)
  • 2-3 Dry Kashmiri chilies (deseeded)
  • 3-4 Binda Solam (Dry Kokum)
  • Salt (as required)
  • 2-3 tbsp Oil
  • 2 tbsp Coriander (finely chopped, optional )

Instructions

  • 1 Wash the squids.
  • 2 Clean the squids. (Check recipe notes below on 'How to Clean Squids').
  • 3 Chop the squids into rings and finely chop the squid tentacles.
  • 4 In a pan, add oil, kashmiri chilies. Fry the onion till soft.
  • 5 Add the squid rings and tentacles. Add salt as per taste. Fry for about 2 minutes.
  • 6 Add the kokum.
  • 7 Cook for about 5-7 minutes.
