Sheera

Tea time favorite of almost every kid and also loved by the elders. This sheera is rich, delicious and full of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Ghee, clarified butter (you will need extra 1 tsp ghee)
  • 2 tbsp Cashewnut
  • 2 tbsp Raisins (Optional)
  • 1/2 cup Rava (Fine semolina)
  • 3 cloves
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/4 cup Granulated white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • Few drops of yellow liquid food color
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder

Instructions

  • 1 In a pan, add 1 tsp ghee, fry the nuts and raisins till nuts turn light brown in color. Keep them aside.
  • 2 In the same pan roast the rava along with the cloves on a low flame till you get a nice aroma of the cloves and rava. This will take about 5 mins. Remove and keep rava aside.
  • 3 Keeping the same pan on flame, add the water, milk, sugar, salt, color, ghee till it comes to a boil.
  • 4 Lower the flame, add the roasted rava and nuts and give it a quick stir and see that it does not form lumps. Add the cardamom powder.
  • 5 Sheera is done once it all comes together and forms a ball.
