Clean Squids Body Tube Part:- |

Wash the squids. |

Pull the tentacles out from squid body. Repeat this with all squids and keep the squid tentacles aside. First, we will clean the squid body part then we will move on to cleaning the squid tentacles. |

Remove the transparent long firm film like thing (known as cartilage or cuttle) from squid body. Discard the transparent film. |

Using your finger tip deep into the squid body, remove all substances you find inside. |

You will find somethings like these (as shown in the pic or some sand residues) inside the squid body. Discard all internal substances. |

Peel off the outer skin off the squid body. Discard the outer skin. |

Wash the squid thoroughly from outside as well as from the inside. |

Clean all the squids in the same manner. |

Clean Squid Tentacles Part:- |

Opposite side of the squid arms, remove the black thing (squid ink sac) you see. Discard the black part. |

Then pull out the fine string that you see. Discard the string. |

On the squids arms side , push the black eyed ball (known as the beak ) that you notice. |

Gently grab and push it outwards. |

Pull out the black eyed ball (known as the beak ) which is attached to a string. Discard this part. |

Move on to the squid's eye portion. |
|

Gently press and remove the eye portion of the squids. (or if you wish , you can cut and discard that eye portion). You will get some amount of squid ink here as well. |

Repeat the procedure with all the tentacles. Wash tentacles and keep them aside. |

Thank you, I was doing it the wrong way before. The fisher women do not know how to clean the squid.
It is best as you say to bring it home and do it oneself.

Wow… Now I will be able to do the job. I always avoided buying since dint know how to clean. Thanks. Could you also let me know time taken to fry or cook them? It had turned rubbery once. hence my query. thank you.

well , if your deep frying squids just 1 to 2 minutes is good … not more than that … check my squids posts .
