Crispy Spicy Squids

This preparation is a very simple and easy one. These were cooked by my husband Alton Pinto specially on Woman's Day. Soaking the squid rings makes them soft. Check out the recipe and give it a try !

Ingredients

  • 15 Squids ( medium size) (Cleaned and cut into rings, use tentacles as well if desired.)
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Red Chilly powder
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Bread crumbs
  • Oil (for deep frying)

Instructions

  • 1 Wash and clean the squids. (Check recipe notes below on 'How to clean squids').
  • 2 Cut the squids into rings.
  • 3 Place the squids and tentacles in a bowl of milk and let it marinate for about 30 mins. (if using big squids marinate for 2-4 hours)
  • 4 In a bowl mix together the Salt, Red Chilli powder, flour and breadcrumbs.
  • 5 Drain the milk out and discard it. Toss small batches of the squid into the dry mix and ensure that you have covered the squid rings and tentacles completely.
  • 6 In a deep frying pan, deep fry the squids for one minute. (See recipe notes below)
  • 7 Drain them on paper towel. Serve hot with a fresh squeeze of Lime if desired. (Check recipe notes below for more squids recipes.)
